Happy Fall, Happy October!

I LOVE FALL!
               I love the Colors!
                      I love the smells!
I love the chill in the air!
It is just an exciting time of the year.....!

And I've been having a great time painting!

I'm looking forward to going in all the Halloween stores and putting up all the decorations.

All the wonderful colors of fall and stomping thru all the crunching leaves....

In fact, I'm going so far as to bake a pumpkin cake today.

Yes, you read that right, I'm going to BAKE
TODAY!

I can't wait to get the house all yummy smelling and all orange looking.... :)

So I hope you are enjoying your fall weekend...

Maybe you too are getting out there and having a taffy apple, or a slice of pie or looking for your perfect halloween costume!

ABSENT! (sorry I've been so MIA.....)

but lots of new art!

Boy oh boy, have I been gone for a long time or what?  I do apologize..
But what has been new..... ooooo, lots of things!

I've been selling locally in a lovely little shop!  And that's been taking alot of my time.  Over the years I thought I had quite the inventory, but I was so, so,

WRONG! Therefore I've been on a creative binge!

Here's a photo of trying to move in quite a few of my paintings and mixed media pieces into the shop!

I love this quaint little shop in the downtown area of
Bloomington, Illinois.  It's Mary Lynne Garden Shop/Knit Shop if you are Ever in the Area.  Lots of nice jewelry artist, paper artist, baskets and of course knitting!

I've had so many different pieces going in my art room.... I'd just move from one piece to another!  It's actually been quite interesting.  So I finally took quite a few new ones down to the shop last night, and I thought my oh my, I best update my blog, too!

It's been such a long hot... oh so hot and dry summer.  There really hasn't been much to do but stay inside in air conditioning and paint.

My little dollies marched all over my art table, here's a little sample of those... they were quite fun when you've got your music pumped up and just let them roam all over the place drying.  It's like they were having their own little dance club.

I hope everyone has is well.  We are getting the rains of Isaac today.  We have been sooooo dry all
year and now in one weekend we are going to get slammed.  But that's about it for now!  I hope to add more soon!  Squeezes!

Angel for a Friend

I painted this Angel for a Dear Dear Friend who turned 50.  She admired this Angel and so wanted it... but I had sold it.  So it took her turning 50 to get me in my art room and painting again!  Which I guess is a good thing right?

At least it's all starting to feel natural to be in that room again, so I'm thankful to her for the "push" it took because I really needed a big old boot!  Happy Birthday my friend!

Alice Trio (of long forgotten paintings....)

I had actually forgotten I had these paintings. I'm in a cleaning mode... Big time.

I mean, I have been cleaning this closet. And that closet.

And this closet and that closet. And EVEN the attic!

AND then there they were....

Unwrapped them and wow. I rather liked them....

Already had someone claim them, but thought I'd show them anyway.... I kind of like all the swirls and colors, and I hope you do, too!

I can't believe all the cleaning I've done. This has been going on for sometime, and I do believe I've kind of run myself ragged, or I hope so.... The boxes are now starting to sit there. So I'm hoping to begin to do art again. Or at least I'm hoping. :)

I'm still Here... Yes I am!

It has been kind of a rough year for me, but I'm sure there are those that have had it even harder...

So I'm not complaining, just letting you know I'm still here!

Unfortunately, my creativity has slipped thru my fingers, but I'm starting to feel it creep back in.. Yay!

I'm donating this piece, so I'm posting it again. I hope it brings a little money, ya know? But since I'm lagging in my skills right now and can't seem to get anything else finished, this is the best I can do... :oD

Anyhoo... I DO hope that each and everyone of you have the Happiest of Holidays....

And I DO hope that each and everyone of you have a SAFE and HEALTHY Holiday and 2012!

Midnight

So, I've been absent for awhile.... yep.

I have..... :)

I've had this painting.

Yep I have..... :)

But... the good news is I have a new scanner!
Look at the difference is makes. Wow.
Or at least I think it makes a difference.

It seems to be capturing better detail then I had before. Yay! Anyhoo, I have my painting "Midnight". A dear friend challenged me to finish a painting and...

well....

I cheated. I did. I already had this one pretty well done... sooooo... I thought I'd add it to my blog since my poor blog has been sitting here neglected, which is so very sad....!!!

But I DO need to get back to painting, because gee whiz! I love what this scanner is doing and
I SO miss my art room and painting and all of my art friends!

(only now I think I need to redo my header and everything, too! I think I need mega time!) :)

A little painting....

I really haven't gotten much done lately (tis sad...!)

But here's a little painting 8x10 painting.

I tweaked it a little with an iphone application.

Love my iphone, and I love looking for new apps
and playing with them!

Maybe that's why I don't get much painting done... :oD

I love The Count!

I don't know if you remember him from Sesame street? But I can hear him.... Three! Three Spooky Coffins! Ha ha ha!

I seem to have had his voice going thru my head the whole time I was working on these.... But I do so love these little guys and I'm happy I got them done in time!

I'm Late! Sofiero; Helsingborg, Sweden

On our recent trip to Helsingborg Sweden, we were fortunate enough to see the Palace of Sofiero! The website states: "This year we celebrate winning the award "Europe's Most Beautiful Park 2010"

And it's true, the Garden's are just UNBELIEVEABLE!

Walking thru, I felt like Alice... the flowers are... well... such a feast for the eyes....

Our only regret was not having enough time to stay longer... we just did not have enough time to see all of the gardens...

As you walk down the paths, many of the flowering bushes are tower above your head, and it's easy to get lost in another world...

So if you ever get the time to go, I highly recommend a visit to the gorgeous Sofiero...

the wedding gift to Prince Gustaf Adolf and his wife Margareta!

Lady Anna Marie

Lady Anna Marie: 8x10 Painted on Canvas

On our recent trip to London and Denmark, we got to
visit a few castles. I painted this lady thinking of castles...

Dark corridors, stairwells and candeabras....

First, in London, we went to The Tower.

Loved seeing the Crowned Jewels, the royal armour, and the prisoner graffiti.....

In Copenhagen, we went to Frederiksborg Castle home of Christian IV. The Castle and the Church were just incredible! This is one of the stained glass windows in the church. Isn't it beautiful?!

First Book Charity Auction and Fab Store!

"To Hold Dearly"

This is the piece that I donated to the "First Book" Charity Auction. I use a 12x24 piece of birch wood. Wood burn the figures, paint with acrylics, scrapbook papers for the background with stamps, etc. I added modeling paste around the edges to create the swirls.

NOW, I have to share about a fabulous store!

We recently visited London, then took a wonderful Scandinavian cruise...

Check out this bag!

Doesn't it just ROCK?!?!? I love it! You can get one from http://www.photo-canvas.com/
It's called a Graffiti bag and YOU can have what you want printed on it! I selected London, Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge to honor our recent visit, and when the bag arrived, I was thrilled! It was MORE then I expected! It's got lovely handles, pockets, little metal feet on the bottom.... You should check out their website... They've got some AWESOME products... Just had to show off my new stuff. Don't we all love our stuff? :)

Dreaming.....

I am dreaming...
A peaceful dream......
"Dreaming of Morning"

Actually, my painting is Dreaming of Morning...
but I'm Dreaming of the Wonderful Vacation
that I had, and how Lovely it was to Meet the
FABULOUS Dawn Gold
http://goldbettyboop.blogspot.com/
She is ONE SPECIAL LADY! She's just as cute as a button and as sweet as can be! I want to go back to London.

Now.... please!

Oooo! And guess who else I saw! The Queen! Which was quite the thrill for me! (Is one allowed to share photos of the Queen?)

I've got tons of vacation pics, so I going to share some fabulous finds as soon as I manage to put my paints away and sort thru my digital desktop mayhem... ;)

Painting Faces on Canvas

New faces on Canvas....
I've been trying to experiment with different paints, collaged backgrounds, textures, etc., etc....

It's been a little bit different to work with, as most of my other bambinos have been created on wood!

So here are some new faces that have been painted on Canvas!

New Paintings

Trying something a little different with my paintings.
These are acrylics on canvas, instead of wood.
I tried layering old paper and music before sketching the faces and painting them. A little different then my other bambinos.
